In his position as Partner with the firm of Augustine & Steuerwald, LLP, Harold handled the defense of all criminal matters in District and County Courts from arraignment to trial, including pre-trial and post trial motions and appeals. He was also responsible for handling various civil litigation including contract and negligence actions, real estate, commercial litigation, bankruptcy actions, family court proceedings and the collection and enforcement of money judgments.

As the Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Riverhead, New York Harold's primary attorney responsibilities included the enforcement of the Riverhead Town Code through the prosecution of violations in the Justice Court of the Town of Riverhead and the initiation of injunctions and enforcement actions in the Supreme Court. He was also responsible for handling various other litigation involving zoning matters, contract actions, Article 78 proceedings, appeals to the Appellate Term and Appellate Division, the execution and enforcement of money judgments, contempt proceedings and declaratory judgment actions. He is experienced in drafting pleadings, pre-trial and post trial motions, search warrants, accusatory instruments for criminal prosecutions, discovery, legal memoranda and appellate briefs. His responsibilities also included the drafting of legislation, code amendments, public notices and town board resolutions.

Harold has held positions including Assistant Town Attorney, Senior Assistant Town Attorney and Deputy Town Attorney of the Town of Brookhaven, Farmingville, New York. His administrative duties as a Deputy Town Attorney included advising and assisting the staff of Assistant Town Attorneys on all phases of civil and criminal litigation in the Supreme Court and the District Court, including the drafting of pleadings, pre-trial and post trial motions, discovery, legal memoranda, appellate briefs, the drafting of accusatory instruments for criminal prosecutions, preparing for hearings and trials. His responsibilities also included the supervision of town investigators in regard to investigating citizen complaints concerning town code violations, answering legal issues involving the prosecution of town code violations, preparing search warrants and preparing investigators for trial.

Harold was the primary attorney responsible for the enforcement of the Brookhaven Town Code through the initiation of injunction actions in the Supreme Court from October 1993 to February 2006. He was also responsible for handling various other litigation involving zoning matters, contract actions, condemnation proceedings, Article 78 proceedings, bankruptcy cases, the execution and enforcement of money judgments, contempt proceedings and declaratory judgments. He is experienced in drafting pleadings, pre-trial and post trial motions, discovery, legal memoranda and appellate briefs. He conducted numerous hearings and has presented oral argument to the Supreme Court, Appellate Term and Appellate Division.

Harold is also experienced in drafting legislation, code amendments, public notices and town board resolutions. His duties also included the review of site plans, performance bonds, SEQRA applications and zoning board applications as counsel to the Board of Zoning Appeals.

As the Village Attorney for the Village of Patchogue, Patchogue, New York, Harold's responsibilities included attending all Village Board meetings, organizational meetings, public hearings and budget meetings in order to address legal issues presented to the Board of Trustees. In addition his responsibilities also included drafting legislation, code amendments, public notices, board resolutions and bids. He oversaw and provided legal assistance to the Village Prosecutor and the various boards within the Village, including the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. He was responsible for initiating litigation in the Supreme Court for the enforcement of the Village Code, defending the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals in Article 78 proceedings and defending the Village in various law suits seeking money damages.

Harold was an Assistant District Attorney for the County of Suffolk in Riverhead New York from March of 1991 to October 1993. This position provided him with extensive trial experience at both the misdemeanor and felony levels, involving numerous jury and non-jury trials. He is experienced in researching various legal issues and the drafting of pre-trial and post trial motions. His responsibilities included the evaluation of misdemeanor complaints, conferencing of cases and the review of felony complaints for Grand Jury presentation. He is experienced in presenting cases to the Grand Jury, conducting various pre-trial hearings and violation of probation hearings.
